Nebia Featured in Business Insider Magazine

Nebia was featured in Business Insider Magazine as one of the "Best Startups that Launched in 2015". The magazine listed and describes startups that have "changed technology in 2015". About Nebia, the magazine reads: "Nebia is the shower head of the future...the shower promises to save water usage by atomizing the water under pressure, creating a larger surface area and a more mist-like feel". The startup has more than 3 million USD in funding from Kickstarter backers. 

The Panama Papers

Alejandro Legorreta wrote an article about the "Panama Papers" where he discusses offshore banking, a phenomena that is not new and that in fact forms part of the global economic system today, but that is often used by people who want to avoid taxes. In the article, Legorreta proposes solutions to the issue including; making the taxation system simpler and making public spending more effective and transparent. 

The Power of a Collaborative Economy

Casa Co, founded by Nicolas Shea, has been working for over a year and has brought together a network of more than 100 entrepreneurs working in fifteen projects. Casa Co is a network platform that brings together and promotes collaboration between entrepreneurs that have an impact in their industries. The group is conformed by people who believe in the power of a collaborative economy to develop a business. 

Santana featured in Variety Magazine

Marcos Santana was featured in Variety magazine as he talked about the great changes in Latin American television viewing-habits, production and distribution. Under his tenure, Telemundo International is now the second-largest distributor of Spanish-language content in the world. 

Sí, Peru

Carlos Rodriguez-Pastor (T'88) delivered the investiture address to the Tuck School of Business class of 2015 on a sunny day last June. During his speech he talked about Intercorp, Peru and Innova Schools, through which he emphasized the value of hard-work, teamwork and communication as keys to success.

Uber's Public Policy Advisory Board

Roberto Dañino took part in the first Public Policy Advisory Board created by Uber in early May. This advisory board was designed to assess the controversial company of private transportation. Other members of the board include: former Secretary of Transportation,  Ray LaHood, Her Royal Highness Princess Reema bint Bandar Al Saud, and former president of the Brazilian Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE), Dr. Gesner Oliveira.

Lachner Appointed to Board of United Way Worldwide

Luis Javier Castro Lachner has been appointed to the Board of Directors of United Way Worldwide, the largest NGO in the world. Lachner declared, "As president of AED and member of the board of directors of United Way, I will enrich the alliances between the business world, society organizations, and governments who are focused on solving the main environmental, social and economic challenges that we are facing. In that regard, I will form a collective approach that will impact and impulse common agendas and metrics in order to move the development indicators. I will also impulse the alignment of United Way's agenda with the global development agenda as decreed by the United Nations in the Sustainable Development Goals." 

Grupo Falabella Expands Into Mexico

On April 15, Grupo Falabella announced that they had achieved one of their long-time goals: expanding into Mexico. The largest department store in South America has allied with the Martín family, owners of Soriana, in order to open twenty stores in Mexico in the next five years. Mexico would be the seventh regional market in which Grupo Falabella is present. 

"The Markets Prefer Hilary..."

Manuel José Balbontín expresses his opinion on future market behavior based on the U.S. presidential race results next November. "The markets prefer Hilary Clinton, because she is more traditional, and people are afraid of Donald Trump's extreme measures" he said when asked which candidate he believes the markets prefer. 

Juntos con México

Alejandro Ramírez announced the second edition of Juntos con México, a fair in support of small and medium-sized businesses in the country. Whilst declaring his support for small businesses, he reminded everyone that Cinépolis also started out as a small business, "we used to be 10 employees, now we are 30,000". Ramírez is optimistic about the country's future and the role that small businesses play in such. He declared "small businesses generate 1.5 million direct jobs for the country".
